Why is the Arkansas State University System replacing the current ERP systems?

The Arkansas State University System is committed to incorporating appropriate technology that will improve the level of service provided to the citizens of Arkansas. Rather than replacing ERP systems at various campuses in a piecemeal fashion, the System leadership determined that all campuses would benefit by combining efforts and moving the entire System into the same ERP system.

What new ERP system will be used?

System leadership has evaluated technology options and determined that Ellucian, the current technology provider for Jonesboro, Mid South, and COTO, is the right partner.

What is the timeline for seeing the changes at my campus?

Who will be making the decisions on how Banner is configured?

Configuration descisions will be made by stakeholders and subject matter experts.

Are other shared services being considered as part of this project?

No, at this time the ASU System is focused on the implementation of a shared ERP service.

What business functions will Banner replace?
Business functions will not be replaced, but enhanced and improved. Throughout design, local review, and playback sessions of the implementation process, institution subject matter experts provide input for the business process needs. Specific business processes are added or removed from the project scope as institution needs are evaluated.
My institution is in Cohort 2. Can we switch to Cohort 1?

Cohorts were selected after considering timing of recent implementations, aging of current systems and other criteria. Cohort membership is set.

Is the goal of a system-wide ERP to eliminate jobs at individual campuses?

No, the goal of a system-wide ERP is to have all institutions on a common software platform for finance, financial aid, human resource, and student information.
